Reaching isolated islands and remote shoreline villages
Redemption Maritime Ministry LLC
We are Nathan and Christian Pineault, operating location leaders for YWAM Ships Outpost Panama, a base for YWAM Ships Kona. We own, captain, and live full-time on S/V Redemption, a 60-foot custom steel ketch. We desire for s/v Redemption to be a mobile outreach platform for evangelism, medical, construction, educational, and community development teams to reach hard places only accessible by water. We operate S/V Redemption as Redemption Maritime Ministry LLC, a partnerSHIP program with YWAM Ships Kona.
A chain of mountains cuts off Panama’s northwestern Caribbean coast from resources on the Pacific side of the country. There are many isolated villages with many indigenous people who have little access to affordable healthcare, clean water, sustainable food, and other resources. Reaching these people by land can require days of travel by foot through mountainous & jungle terrain. With S/V Redemption, we can drop anchor off shore near the villages to engage and help these communities -- far easier than traveling for days through the jungle.
As U.S.-trained nurses, we have a special interest in assisting people through healthcare and education. Many of the ailments we witness among the Ngäbe are related to inaccessibility to clean water, sanitation, nutrition, and basic medical care. We desire to come alongside other partners to assist in improving these communities through wells, water catchment, sustainable agriculture, education, access to medical, and much, much more as the Lord leads.
Our goals are as follows:
- To equip our sailboat for full-time ministry in the archipelago of Bocas del Toro and along the Carribian coast, in partnerSHIP with YWAM Ships Kona and Outpost Panama.
- To take outreach teams to minister to the Ngäbe people.
- To assist others in reaching, helping, and discipling the Ngäbe people and others in the region.
- To provide opportunities for individuals and groups to come and serve with us.
We need you to help us reach these goals and be a part of what God is doing. There are many ways you can help.
You can support us financially to maintain and outfit S/V Redemption for service, and to bring outreach teams from Panama and beyond to assist in community development, discipleship and education.
We also invite you to come experience what God is doing at YWAM Ships Outpost Panama. We need people on site with:
- sailboat construction, maintenance, and captaining experience,
- other maritime experience,
- Spanish - English translation skills,
- abilities to teach English or lead Bible studies,
- community development, agricultural or animal husbandry experience, and
- much, much more.
We also desire to provide medical outreaches. Stay tuned for more information as we work on obtaining approval from the Panamanian government for this aspect of our ministry.
Will you join Redemption Maritime Ministry LLC in serving the isolated people groups of Bocas del Toro and along the Mosquito Coast of Panama? Be part of the efforts to help the indigenous Ngäbe people with community development as we share the Good News of Jesus Christ!
