My Story

As a child, I learned the importance of the Great Commission and wanted others to know Jesus. After college I worked in accounting, little knowing that God was preparing me to serve Him full-time in missions. In 2002, I became the accountant at a mission organization in Florida, and I later worked in accounting and web analytics at an organization in Texas.

While serving in Texas, I heard about the need at Camp Gilead for a bookkeeper who would also help with children’s programs. After visiting the camp in early 2021, I prayed and felt that the Lord confirmed in multiple ways that He was calling me to serve here.

Reading Camp Gilead’s history helped me catch the vision for how God is using the camp. The founder wasn’t saved until around age 30, but he’d been greatly impacted when he attended a Sunday school class for three weeks as a teen—his first exposure to the Gospel! God gave him a passion to reach unsaved children, and Camp Gilead is continuing to make a vital impact on young people today. Also, throughout the camp’s history, the administrative load was very heavy at times, and God provided the help they needed in answer to their prayers. I realized that the Lord was leading me to help carry that load now, also in answer to prayers.
