First Baptist Church South Pittsburg, TN

When twenty men and women of Baptist faith met at the Methodist Church of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, on that cold Monday evening of January 23, 1888, they could not have envisioned the hardships nor the successes which were in store for First Baptist Church during the next one hundred and thirty-three years. As we celebrate yet another year as a family of believers, we honor those charter members and all those who have served the Lord so faithfully through the past years. God has richly blessed the ministry of First Baptist Church, and our sincere prayer is that the coming years we may serve Him in an even greater way as we dedicate our lives to His service and purpose in our hearts to be joyful, faithful and effective servants in His kingdom.
