Cindy Torres

Cindy is a first generation Mexican-American who was born and raised in Southern California. Growing up in a diverse community, she always had an interest in and appreciation for different cultures. Because of her love for children and helping others, at the young age of nine, Cindy began volunteering at church as a “helper” in one of the Sunday School classes.

During her first visit to Thailand, Cindy celebrated her 21st birthday. She immediately fell in love with the people and wanted to do anything to help them. Eight months later, in November of 2004, she moved to Thailand and has lived there ever since.

Cindy has experienced God’s faithfulness over and over again while working with children in Thailand and Myanmar. Her experience in both countries includes being a part of the pioneering process for a safe home, an orphanage, and a home for street children. She has had the privilege of experiencing how God’s love can change a child as they are brought out of darkness and into His light.
